Aleppo soap range extends
with our historical partner

Since its creation in 2004, Karawan authentic is engaged with its soap partner in Aleppo.
The recognized quality of Karawan soaps is the fruit of his know-how based on his ability to select noble oils of olive and laurel berry, on his fine knowledge of saponification and on his production tools.
Our loyalty to this partner has allowed us to maintain the quality of our soaps since the beginning of the conflict in 2011, while continuing to support a local artisanal economy.
The events had a significant impact on the manufacturing sites : most of downtown old Aleppo, where historical soap factories were, is destroyed. However, in the western districts, new means of production were organized to enable Aleppo to continue to enhance the economy of olive tree farming by continuing the production of soaps.
Our partner, part of whose family stayed in Aleppo, was able to reconstitute another technical team and reorganized a craft factory 70 km north of Aleppo, Turkey. There, the same climate, specific to the region, allows the soap to mature under the best conditions. We can thus secure the production and its routing, allowing the Aleppo citizens to stay close to their families.
Thanks to our strong and loyal partnership, we can still innovate while securing our values and our high quality requirement.
Karawan continues its original commitment to support craftpeople who maintain their ancestral activity, symbol of the rich and plural history of Aleppo, by adapting it to new production sites that remain in the Aleppo geographical area.
This is why Aleppo Karawan soaps mention Syria or Turkey as origin. In both cases, they are made with our historical partner, Aleppo master-soap maker, with the same ingredients and the same know-how.
