An ethical sector in South India

The futas collections are manufactured in South India, in the state of Tamil Nadu, by a semi-artisanal weaving unit with whom Karawan develops its exclusive organic cotton collections. Mr. Visu employ thirty people in working conditions, wages and regulations in conformity with ILO standards. The traditional looms stand a longside spinning mills. To support this family business, orders are 50% pre-financed by Karawan.

Cotton 100% organic

The weaving is done with organic GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton. India is today the largest producer of organic cotton in the world. A recent law requires the transformation of the raw material takes place in the same country, thus promoting the creation of added value for the benefit of Indian craftsmen.
