The ritual of the Hammam

The hammam is not only a room saturated with water vapor where we breathe eucalyptus scent,
to get rid of toxins, microbes and other impurities that clog our skin and our airways.

The hammam is also a real ritual of beauty, in which we forget the little worries of everyday life
to devote a few moments to body care.

After a shower or a hot bath, escape with the beauty products of the hammam:
Black soap, Aleppo soap, Rhassoul, scrubbing gloves and care oils.

Purify
During the shower or bath, you can wash with Aleppo Soap, known for its sweetness (it is rich in olive oil) and its antibacterial properties (thanks to the bay laurel oil it contains in varying proportions). The Rhassoul is also an emblematic product of the hammam: this clay originated in Morocco has purifying, absorbing and degreasing virtues. It cleans oily skin and oily scalps, reduces sebum secretion, absorbs impurities, and tightens pores. It is used on the body or hair, as well as on the face if you do not have dry skin. The rhassoul is applied like a soap: it is coated with the skin, gently rubbed by hand, then rinsed. We can also make a mask.

Exfoliate
Black soap is an emollient product to apply just before the exfoliation, or during. It softens and softens the epidermis, and prepares it for exfoliation. The black soap is usually based on olive oil, which gives it a brown color more or less dark. The fluid texture of the new Karawan black soap tube allows easy application for this scrub 100% vegetable and biological in the pure tradition of the hammam. Apply on the body, leave for 5 minutes, then proceed to scrub without rinsing beforehand.
For the scrub, you are spoiled for choice between the different gloves and exfoliating plant fibers. Kessa glove in black crepe, Hemp glove, Sisal ball, the Loofah of Egypt. Choose the one that suits you best.

Feed
Last gesture for a perfect beauty ritual: care oils to nourish the epidermis. Smoothing and protective Argan Oil has been known for centuries for its nourishing, regenerating properties for skin, hair and nails. Nigella Oil, also known as Black Cumin Oil, is known to regenerate skin and tone the scalp. It is suitable for all skin types, especially for oily or problem skin.

Dry
To accompany the daily actions of the bath and the relaxation, it is traditional to use a fouta after the bath or the hammam. Karawan offers you a range of foutas in organic cotton, flat woven or honeycomb foutas made from certified organic cotton GOTS and dyes are certified free of heavy metals. Its lightness and absorbing qualities make it also the companion of the modern traveler. Fits as needed in towel, sarong, massage sheet ... It dries quickly and folds easily into a bag.
